Hello! My name is Kristin Tedesco, MS CCC-SLP, the founder of Little Sunflowers Speech & Language. I’m a speech-language pathologist with 10 years experience in the field. I earned my MS from Long Island University and BS from Queens College.
I began my career working with the adult population in skilled nursing facilities. I have also worked in early intervention and privately with pediatric clients on word-of-mouth referrals knowing one day I wanted to open my own private practice! This was one of the main reasons I wanted to get into the field of speech pathology - because of the immense flexibility of various work settings and the other - being able to work one-on-one with clients. This field is ever-changing and can significantly enhance the lives of those we treat and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.
I live in Merrick, New York with my husband Greg and our daughter Alessandra. I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach during the summertime, horseback-riding, gardening, traveling and sunflowers!
Off my resume, my greatest accomplishment is motherhood. Our daughter was born in 2018 and there is no greater joy than to watch her grow and see her emotionally, physically and cognitively thrive. She’s absolutely validated my career decision as an SLP and I knew since the day she was born, I would use every skill I possess for her benefit. She’s the inspiration which drives my clinical perspective - to provide all the tools necessary for children to function at their highest potential of speech, language and cognition.
