Speech & Language Delays

Is your toddler's language developing at a slower rate compared with his/her peers? Do you think your child may have a speech and/or language delay? 

Speech and language delays will be addressed from a holistic perspective primarily through play and structured cognitive tasks via a bottom-up module. “Late talkers” may be included in this category where a child’s first 50 words are not met by the 18-24 month age-range.

Pragmatics & Social Skills Development 

Does your child struggle with connecting to peers, following social cues or maintaining social relationships?

Therapy will address social skills development, also known as pragmatics, during speaker-listener interactions which include all elements in the environment surrounding the message. Therapy will highlight maintaining eye contact, identification of social rules and context appropriateness.

Expressive & Receptive Language Disorders 

 Is your child struggling with expressive/receptive language in an academic setting?

Language will be assessed utilizing a form, content, use perspective including any potential deficits in phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Therapy will highlight pre-literacy skills, labeling pictures, sequencing, story retell, wh-questions and letter/sound identification.

Articulation & Phonological Disorders 

Having difficulty understanding your child? Do they have difficulty eliciting specific sounds? 

Speech and articulation will be assessed to address overall intelligibility, phoneme production, articulation placement, phonological patterns present, and phonological awareness. Therapy will target and identify speech sound distortions, omissions, and deletions and will be treated utilizing articulation strategies and specified techniques.
